Preston boxer Scott Fitzgerald will fight Blackpool’s Brian Rose this summer following huge Fowler win.

Fitzgerald recently lit up the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, winning an instant classic of a fight against scouse prodigy Anthony Fowler.

Now ‘Fitzy’ will be looking to deal with local rival Brian Rose, who won a six-rounder last month, taking his record to 31 wins in 37 fights.

After the fight, Rose told media he was desperate to get a shot at Fitzgerald and believes it is a massive fight for Lancashire.

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has announced that the fight has now been made and is set to take place in Manchester.

Fitzy and Rose will feature on the undercard of a bill at the Manchester Arena on July 6th.

Should the Preston fighter come through this test he will meet former EBU champion Ted Cheeseman later this year
